| while talking to my sister today, i came to terms with two other "odd" things about myself.
7. i often write the word "firm" in cursive in the air with my finger. why firm? i don't know, but i have been doing it since high school. and why in cursive - i never use cursive, so i have no idea.
8. i am convinced that on days when my hair is not washed, i get a headache and feel much more tired than the average day. | | |

OK, here we go. but let me first mention that i like to think of them as "quirks", instead of "weirdnesses". it seems more appealing to me to be quirky than to be weird.
1. sometimes when i am driving my car, i pretend that i am actually flying a plane. there are a few particular ramps off of 208 that i really like to take because they heighten the experience for me. mostly i pretend that i am taking off and landing. cruising along in the jet stream lacks the adrenaline rush of taking off and landing.
2. i really like to make lists in my day planner - so much so that sometimes i write down things that i have done after the fact, just so that it is included on my list. usually my lists are of things that i need to do or things that i need to purchase, though there are other kinds of lists too. another aspect of this quirk is that i like to keep old calendars and planners. i think that it is kind of fun to look back over things that i have done, even if it is just in list form. "oh yeah, a year ago i went to drug fair for conditioner, e-mailed a few college friends, and went out for dinner with adam to our favorite vietnamese restaurant." very interesting.
3. i think about ring dings about once a day - though i only partake in eating one a couple times a year.
4. i love pulling out thick black hairs - like eyebrows and eyelashes. this is a bit gross, and my mom will gasp when she sees that i have written this - she thinks that my sisters and i are monkeys. i am not quite sure why, but i think that bulbous part that is buried in the skin is just fascinating. related is the desire to pull out dog or cat whiskers (i never do - don't worry)
5. i am convinced that a color that we have never ever seen before exists and that it is going to be revealed to us in heaven. i can't wait.
6. i could only think of five on the spot - but adam gave me a sixth, one that i don't think is all that weird. he enjoys the fact (or hates the fact, i am not sure which is truer) that i always root for the front runner in sports. he is an underdog kind of guy. i just want the winners to win. tennis for example - i love watching federer play and i admit that i want him to win...always. i don't mind when he dominates the sport - i am impressed. and this only applies when the front runners seem like decent people to me - no jerks. and i did tell adam that if the australian open comes down to james blake and roger federer, i will root for the blakester. and i ALWAYS root for those EC eagles, win or lose. i am a loyal fan.
i don't know that many people that use xanga that haven't already been tagged (my friends aren't really xangaites), but i will tag my sissy, jilly jumpin jelly beans, my cousin jacki, timmy hong, missi (if she still ever uses this)...and well, i will leave it at that for now. | | |
